Tails from the coastal bend..
When, if at all does it sink in that to eat fish, you buy fish to catch said eating ones? HAHAAAA Damn its been hot down here. But I have to keep reminding myself, "Self, you're in what's called south Texas, it's going to be hot damn HOT. You could put a roast & some taters in your pants and have crotch pot cooking!!" OK, no fish yesterday, at least to speak of, so me & my girl decide to go out for fish. We went to a place we had been to last year and enjoyed, but this year was not the same. We ordered the fresh catch of the day. The dinner we ordered was not cook all the way though so we sent it back for a redo. Well after checking before biting we discovered this one also was raw inside so we sent it back and said no thanks to a 3rd try. We asked what kind of fish it was and were told Alaskan Whitefish Somehow I don't think that should be considered the fresh catch of the day here on the coastal bend of Texas!! The only thing that saved me from getting sick was the 6 pack of Long Star beer, MMMMM good. On the way back to our abode we passed under some intertesting trees with green things hanging from them. Nancy knew right off they were limes and Oranges. The oranges were green yet but we picked one and several limes to check out. And wouldn't you know it but I left all my Tequila at home! Oh well I'm sure I'l survive to 'tequila' another day! We went to try our luck today at fishing ---caught a skipjack but it broke our line just as we were getting it in.It's really only good for cut bait so we didn't feel to bad. A older couple next to us caught 2 beautiful red snappers and several red drums. I swear but some people have all the luck!!
Take care my slippery little monkeys!! Son, Brother, Uncle Peter

Mmmm, fresh limes. So how long can a lime last in transit? I would love to have some if they can survive the trip back. When are you guys coming back anyway?
It sounds like your having a great time down there! Keep the updates coming, and I am with J on this one, fresh limes sound great right about now! Maybe it is becuase we have both been fighting this lingering cold thing we both got(i got mine from him-and I still call him a great cousin) whats wrong with me anyway?!
Ahh, you remind me of the hot days and crazy nights I spent sitting around a larg body of water. Though not the south of Texas, those Crazy Greeks I spent time with knew how to have a good time. So, I say forget the tequila and go out and buy some Ouzo to live it up!
To J&N, limes are quite good at time travel, and we plan to bring some back, but that will be at the end of our trip. We brought some oranges & grapefruits back the 1st time and most made it except the ones we ate along the way. Course we went a lot farther south, plus stoped at fruit stands near Falfurrias. As for EWWWzo[Ouzo], you'll have to drink that yourself Dusty, I'm not crazy about heavily flavored licorice liquors. Unless maybe if it's red licorice. hmmm
See ya'll soon kiddies..
I'm with you UP, Ouzo would ONLY be good if red licorice flavored!
BAAAAHHHHHHH! ;)
Let red licorice soak in Ouzo for a couple of hours, and I bet you would have the something you like.
When are you two coming back to the Northland?
About fish... I bet we could have gotten the same "fresh catch of the day" here in Duluth at McDonald's .. Hee, hee, snicker, snicker.
I'm with you Dusty - I'd love to try some of that black licorice stuff! I do like my licorice black or red. Makes no difference. So I'd love to try some with you sometime!
